Mission Statement:
A non-profit organization committed to supporting nä 'ohana o Kamehameha.   We are dedicated to uniting community members interested in promoting cultural and educational enrichment for our haumana in an effort to perpetuate a strong foundation and continued spirit of 'ohana. 


We sponsor community service projects, organize and hold fundraising events to annually acknowledge the high achieving, civic minded West Hawai'i boarder students in support of their continued educational pursuits.

Song Contest
Congratulations to the Class of 2014 for their monumental sweep of the
94th Annual Song Contest.
All the classes sounded fantastic.  We are proud of all our students; their hard work and practice, in making this event a truly unique
KS tradition.

Spring Community Service
March 29, 2014

Mahalo to all the families who came out to work the land known as Kaukaweli, Makalawena Ahupua'a.
There was plenty growth eradicated and the ulu trees we planted last year looked great. The Nakoa Foundation is so grateful for our work.

Golf Outing

Our annual Golf Outing was a wonderful success,
in spite of some rain.  We are very blessed to have the funnest golf patrons supporting our cause.

for our awards ceremony.

Membership Information

All parents/guardians of West Hawaii Students are invited to be active members of the ATP (Association of Teachers and Parents) which is associated with the larger ATP which supports programs that assist our Kapalama Students.  Other features of our ATP are:

  • Providing scholarships to graduating seniors continuing on to higher education or the military.
  • Supporting each other in issues regarding boarding and education in general.

Scholarship eligibility regulations and requirements are posted in the "Scholarship Info" tab located near the top of this page.
